About Diane
Diane is a seasoned midwife with over 40 years of experience.
Diane has been practicing midwifery in the Bay Area of San Francisco, including San Francisco, Marin, and Sonoma counties, since 1993. Throughout her career, she has attended more than a thousand births. She blends a holistic approach, herbal training from the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, and evidence-based practices to provide personalized integrative care for families. Meanwhile, Diane has practiced family medicine as a Physician Assistant in West Marin for the past 30 years. She enjoys watching the babies grow and being involved in their lives after they are born.
Diane’s goal is to blend the sacredness of birth with modern-day evidence-based practice. Her dedication to her profession and community underscores her lifelong commitment to supporting families and improving maternal care.

“I see midwifery as a blend of nurturing, guidance, and evidence-based care. It centers the woman as the primary decision-maker in the birth process and emphasizes empowering women to trust their bodies, recognizing that each birth is unique and transformative.”

Personalized Care
“I keep my practice small, attending about two births monthly to ensure availability and close connection with my clients. I offer intensive postpartum support, with at least three home visits in the first week, and meet regularly during pregnancy to build trust and answer questions.”
Guiding Philosophy
“I facilitate a mindful, respectful birthing process tailored to each family’s needs. My role is to create a safe and empowering environment for mothers and babies, whether the birth occurs at home or in a hospital. I value the emotional and physical well-being of the entire family and believe that peaceful births contribute to creating compassionate human beings.”
Supportive and Flexible
“I adapt to the unfolding nature of each birth, offering unwavering support through any unexpected changes. My ultimate goal is to ensure a healthy mother, baby, and family.”
I offer free initial consultations to help families explore whether homebirth aligns with their goals. I am passionate about guiding families through the profound pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood journey with care and mindfulness.
